Overview

Shipyarddoor® Alu-Flex is a vertical lifting fabric door engineered for large openings where standard doors fall short. Originally developed for shipbuilding needs, it is now widely used in mining sites, warehouses, and industrial hangars.

Comprised of

24/7 Operations:
Built for continuous use with high-resistance fabric and a robust gearbox system.
Low Maintenance:
No springs, ball bearings, or couplings. All components are selected for dust resistance and long service life.
Excellent Sealing:
Unique side sealing with aluminum leaves and heavy-duty PVC fabric ensures wind-tight, noiseless operation. U-shaped bottom seals and weather-resistant rubber enhance insulation.
Unlimited Size for Big Projects:
Modular design allows for unlimited width using mullions. Each section is optimized for up to 120 m² under 140 km/h wind loads.

Frame:
Double-layer fabric folds in opposite directions, fixed to T6063-T6 aluminum beams. Thickness ranges from 120–180 mm. Intermediate beams retract via motor and feature polyamide tires for smooth operation under wind.

Bottom Beams:
Carries structural loads and maintains full sealing in strong winds.

Side Guides:
Made from structural steel with bolt-fixed aluminum rails. Designed for easy replacement and secure weather sealing.

Wind Resistance:
Operational: 120 km/hClosed position: 180 km/hCustom builds up to 190 km/h (hurricane-rated, EN 12424 Class 4–5).

Structural Loading:
Designed for dead load, seismic activity, wind pressure/suction, per environmental code.

Load Arrestors & Wind Locks:
Patent-protected safety features prevent door drop or lift during cable/motor failure. Integrated with slack-sensing limit switches
