Shipyarddoor® is a vertical-lifting fabric hangar door built for extreme industrial environments with no height or width limitations. Originally developed for shipyards in the 1980s and introduced to Turkey in 2003, it now serves across airports, shipyards, and mining sectors. Designed for high durability, it performs in harsh conditions like dust, extreme temperatures, and high altitudes. Unlike conventional doors, it requires low maintenance and offers tailored solutions such as crane or sound-insulated doors. Engineered using client feedback and proven performance in blasting and painting facilities, Shipyarddoor® delivers unmatched reliability.

  • 24/7 Operations:
    The Flexible Giant hangar door has excessive durability . Hangar doors can be operated 24 X 7 specially by selecting high resistance fabric and gearbox system for continuous operations.
  • Low Maintenance:
    Flexible Giant hangar doors don't require special maintenance as all parts are carefully selected for low maintenance. There are no springs, ball-bearing or couplings that can be damaged from dust or similar effect even if anything crashed or collides with the door.
  • Excellent Sealing:
    Hangar doors have unique side sealing pocket. This heavy duty PVC coated fabric has excellent sealing feature and doors can be closed even at high windy conditions. Sealing is one of most important requirements in mining industries. Our doors sealing properties can be compare and conventional door system. It is designed for noiseless operations.
  • Unlimited Size for Big Projects:
    Shipyarddoor® mining hangar doors don’t have any limit for dimensions. We can manufacture 50000 mm X 35000 mm in one piece and unlimited width with mullion system
  • Maximum Dimensions:
    There are no size limitations. Shipyarddoor® hangar doors can be manufactured to any dimension required, with or without mullion supports, and fully tailored to the specific needs of your aircraft facility.
  • Wind Resistance:
    Standard doors resist winds up to 170 km/h when closed, 140 km/h operationally. Custom solutions withstand up to 230 km/h (hurricane standard).

Cable System:
The system features a dual-motor drive for balanced lifting and continued operation if one motor fails. Shipyard-grade switches on both sides ensure reliable control and safety. Primary and backup limit switches automatically stop the door in both open and closed positions.

Side Guides:
Extruded aluminum side guides are integrated into the door system to transfer wind loads directly to the jamb support while providing weather sealing on both sides. The guides are easily replaceable and secured using approved structural fasteners.

Load Arrestors and Wind locks:
Shipyarddoor Flexible Giant® doors with steel trusses are equipped with patented load arrestors mounted at the bottom of the door to prevent free fall in the event of motor, strap, or rope failure. Wind locks secure the door in the closed position, even under extreme wind conditions. The load arrestor system detects slack cables and automatically cuts power through the integrated switch and drive unit to prevent unsafe operation.
